Committed To The Game - Brand Film
The Brief
To create an engaging, powerful and emotive short brand film, bringing to life Canterbury’s Committed To The Game proposition using a mixture of archive rugby footage, existing Canterbury content and new content that had yet to be shot.
The Idea
To get back to basics with where it all began grassroots rugby.
We mined the large archive of existing Canterbury footage, choosing the best bits, then scripted and storyboarded our film. We decided to navigate the choppy waters of broadcast rugby licensing, looking to pull out the best archive available to us, featuring Canterbury sponsors on the pitch, building on our narrative and working with a limited pool of 60 seconds worth of footage across two hemispheres. We then shot high-speed Alexa footage – which along with a killer VO and highly emotive music track, brought it all together.
The Results
Archive research is never quick, especially when it comes to live sport licensing. Over 3 months of dedication & 1 day shoot = one happy agency, one happy client and a great film for their website homepage.
